The Gathering 2009
The Gathering 2009 is a celebration of Scottish culture, and the feast of events ranges from the Deuchars World Highland Games Heavy Events Championship, piping, Highland dancing and clan village, to live music, whisky tastings, food and crafts fairs, childrens' activities, and a large genealogy area. Homecoming Day at The Open Championship
In 2009, the year of Homecoming, the Open Championship returns to Turnberry's famous Ailsa course..
Homecoming Day at Turnberry is the final practice day on Wednesday July 15. Roam the course prior to the start of the famous Open Championship, try your luck at our Homecoming putting competition or get close to the Claret Jug and give yourself a lasting memory of the day.
Homecoming Day at The Open is the perfect opportunity to come and see a whole host of world-class golfing stars as they prepare for the opening day of the tournament (you're even allowed to take your camera on to the course - unlike tournament days). More info...
