Have a go on a Scottish estate

Have a go on a Scottish estate

There are more than 50 adventure activities on offer in Scotland, most of which can be enjoyed by first-timers and experts alike. Scotland's country estates in particular offer a wealth of activities. Why not try your hand at archery, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking or off-road driving.

Archery is one pursuit that can be enjoyed by almost everyone whether you are looking for social recreation or fierce competition. If you fancy yourself as a modern day Robin Hood then this is the activity for you!

Challenge your hand-eye co-ordination with some clay pigeon shooting. Even if you have never tried it before, all levels of skill can enjoy this sport. Try out a taster session, or have a lesson with a variety of challenges.

Scotland also offers the perfect terrain for off-road driving with rolling hills, adrenaline pumping bog lands, forests, rocks, rivers and infamous unpredictable weather conditions.

Quad biking is another way to get off-road and see Scotland. Quad bikes may have been designed with farmers and landowners in mind but they're great for exploring Scotland's wild back-country on a half-day or day-long trek.

There are a number of places where you can try your hand at these activities and more, for example Rothiemurchus Estate in the heart of Cairngorms National Park or Ardverikie Estate, easily recognisable from its starring role as Glenbogle in the BBC drama Monarch of the Glen. Or stay in one of Scotland's luxury country house hotels with a bewildering choice of activities on-site.
