Get out and Active in Moray

Get out and Active in Moray

With a diverse coastal and upland landscape Moray lends itself to equally varied and exciting outdoor activities.

The Moray Monster Trails offer mountain biking at all levels with lots of blue graded routes just south of Fochabers and enough to get the adrenaline flowing at the Whiteash section which also has Winding Walks where, as the light fades, you can look out for bats fluttering above the nearby pond.

Glenlivet Estate offer a host of activities from archery to clay pigeon shooting, canoeing and horse riding. You can try falconry, fishing and guided walks in the company of experienced countryside rangers.

If you'd prefer some high octane adventure then The Lecht 2090 will kit you out with quad bikes and fun karts for you to have some tooth-rattling fun round their dedicated track. Spending more time there the Chairlift rides whisk you to the top of the hill where spectacular views of the Cairngorms await. If you want to get back down quickly though, they have just opened a new red graded mountain bike track with berms, table-tops and drops all served by the chairlift.

Taking things at a more relaxing pace; Moray is home to many lush and testing golf courses. Moray Golf Club boast the highly regarded Old and New Courses while inland Dufftown Golf Club perches high on the heather-clad hillside in amid some of Moray's most beautiful scenery. Its ninth tee at stands 1,294ft above sea level with a drop of 200ft to the fairway and a further 130ft to the green, certainly a challenge to finish the front nine.

So between this stimulating land based fun and the many water sports available along the Moray coast, it is the ideal location for an activities break.
