Perfect Wildlife Experiences

Perfect Wildlife Experiences

The Moray Firth is famous for its abundant and diverse wildlife, from wading birds and wildfowl to seals and porpoise but none are more popular than the resident pod of dolphins. Hop aboard the spacious and stable Top Cat with Moray Diving and spot your favourite wildlife on this relaxing cruise. Part of the Dolphin Space Programme; Moray Diving work to minimise disturbance to dolphins and their environment.

Back on dry land; enjoy the Findhorn Bay Nature Reserve. The reserve itself has been described as an international airport for migratory birds and the highlight comes in the summer months as ospreys return to fish in the bay. Findhorn Bay and neighbouring RSPB Culbin Sands have been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Nearby Culbin Forest provides a haven for red squirrels and occasionally otters, badgers and roe deer can be spotted. There are a series of ranger guided walks along the well maintained trails and these give the perfect opportunity to view and interpret the flora and fauna. For a birds eye view why not try the Hill 99 viewpoint trail and scale the 20m purpose built tower for outstanding views across the Moray Firth towards the hills of Sutherland.

Inland and part of the Cairngorms National Park, Glenlivet Estate offers a ranger service offering visitors the chance of viewing that unmistakable of game birds; the capercaillie.

Across Moray the opportunities to spot wildlife in dramatic and fresh, highland and coastal environments are plenty.
