Wild Green Travel

Wild Green Travel helps you to see Scotland in a whole new way, based on the key ingredients of Scotland’s rich wildlife, and local wild and organic produce.

Starting in Edinburgh, take a three day trip to the Highlands and Isle of Skye. On arriving at the peaceful fishing village of Stromeferry, you’ll meet your host Charlie, who was the founder of Iglu restaurant in Edinburgh, winner of ‘Gastropub of the year 2007’ and listed in the Michelin guide. Iglu specialised in sourcing produce from local farmers and fishermen.

End your day with a seal spotting cruise and a seafood banquet. You are welcome to learn how to ‘shuck’ a scallop with Neil the fisherman and help prepare seafood in the kitchen with Charlie. Or just sit back with a glass and enjoy the incredible views over Loch Carron, near Applecross, as featured in Monty Halls’ Great Escape, recently shown on BBC2.

Opt for a seven day foodie break, and the culinary delights continue. Try some locally brewed ales and a visit to Talisker distillery after a walk though Skye’s awesome Cuillin Hills. Meet the local butcher to learn to make sausages! You can have a go foraging for seaweed on the shore and other wild ingredients in the forests. Join Wild Green Travel for this amazing Scottish culinary safari.

Lovers of Scotland’s national drink can opt for the fascinating Islay Whisky Tour which not only takes in the area's scenic beauty and wildlife, but also allows you the visit the distilleries on the ‘Whisky Isle’
