Take the opportunity to explore the breathtaking landscape and culture of the Isle of Skye where there are so many opportunities to spot wildlife such as deer, otters and even golden eagles as well as unique attractions such as a boat trip with a local fisherman on Loch Carron, near Applecross. Look out for seals, dolphin, porpoise and an array of seabirds as you sample fresh scallops, cooked on the boat straight from the water. The area is featured in Monty Halls’ Great Escape, shown Sunday nights on BBC2.

While Islay may be most famous for being home to numerous distilleries, it also boasts abundant wildlife with minky whales, dolphins and occasionally basking sharks seen in the clear blue waters. The local RSPB reserve Loch Gruinart (pronounced Groo-nyart) is the place to spot geese, waders, birds of prey & otters.
